UMass Amherst INFORMS Student Chapter Gets Magna Cum Laude Award at INFORMS in Phoenix

I am such a proud Faculty Advisor!

The UMass Amherst INFORMS Student Chapter was recognized for its activities at the 2012 INFORMS Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, which is concluding today.

The photos below were taken at the award ceremony honoring student chapters around the country.

This is the sixth time in as many years that our chapter has gotten either the magna cum laude or the summa cum laude award.

Not only was last year's Chapter President, my doctoral student, Dong "Michelle" Li, in attendance to receive the award, but this year's President, Joanne Oh, was as well, and former officers, who are now Assistant Professors: Dr. Min Yu and Dr. Patrick Qiang, who celebrated with them from the audience. They were also my doctoral students in Management Science at the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst.

What a wonderful group of student leaders and ambassadors for operations research and the management sciences we have at UMass Amherst!
